Hurling vs. Lacrosse Rules

Origin of Hurlacrosse Rules
Hurlacrosse rules were designed to bring together the best elements of hurling and lacrosse. First played in 2009, with improved rules drafted in 2019, the hybrid format balances the fast-paced action of hurling with the strategic stick-handling of lacrosse. Hurlacrosse rules were developed by Jakob Feldmann (Darmstadt GAA), and David Wogan (PlayHurling.com). These rules were developed, with permission and guidance, from the original Hurlacrosse rules written by Tony Devine (Irish Lacrosse Foundation).
Scoring, team sizes, and field dimensions were carefully adapted so players from both sports could compete fairly. Over time, the rules have evolved through international matches and feedback from players, ensuring the game remains fun, fast, and accessible.
